How much will my disconnections cost?

• Electricity and gas
  Most electricity and gas distributors charge a fee to finalise your account. Also, if you are switching to a different electricity supplier at your new address, but are still under contract with your old supplier, you may be required to pay an early exit fee if the plan is terminated before the agreed end date. However, if you are simply transferring an existing account to a new address, you will not be required to pay an early exit fee, even if you are under a fixed term contract. Don't let that stop you from switching because it is quite possible that switching to a new supplier means you'll be charged a cheaper electricity rate and you could find that the savings you'll make on your bills over time will more than offset the termination fee.
• Telephone
  If you disconnect your Telstra landline phone within 3 months from the connection date you will be charged $100. Otherwise disconnection is free of charge.
• Water
  Water disconnection incurs no fees.
• Pay TV
