Connecting your water

If you live in Victoria who you connect to depends on where you live. We can tell you who your local water retailer is, and get the account changed into your name so that you don't have to pay for the previous occupant's usage.
When & how

When you need to connect your water

In Victoria your water will often be on at your new property when you move in. Therefore, you are unlikely to move in to a new property and be without water supply – however, if you don't get the account changed into your name - then there is a chance that you might be charged for the previous occupier's usage. Therefore - it is best to get on to the water company a few days before you move in.

How to connect water in Victoria

If you live in Victoria – you will need to arrange to connect your water supply to your new home. You can either find out who your supplier is by way of research and connect directly, or connectnow can connect your water on your behalf.

All you need to do is - enter your Victorian postcode into our online moving home tool. We will identify the relevant water provider in your area. From there you can provide us with some basic details – and we will arrange the connection for you. We are used to dealing with the water companies and will ensure that only the water you use after you move in gets charged to you.

The connections process – how it works

Firstly we check when you need your water connected. Then we check who the relevant retailer is in your new area - and make sure that we have all of the necessary information to facilitate the connection. We then send this off to the water retailer.

Your local water provider will then arrange for your water meter to be read and billing account details to be changed over. Your water will already be connected so you don't have to worry about there being no water when you move in.
